Privacy Policy

This policy covers both the Kithle website (kithle.com) and the Kithle app (app.kithle.com). We've written it plainly so you can actually tell what we hold and why. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we keep your children's work out of analytics, and we don't sell anything.
Who we are
Kithle is a worksheet and record-keeping tool for homeschooling families. You can reach us any time at hello@kithle.com.
What we collect
When you create an account. You sign in with Google or with an email sign-in link. We receive and store your email address and a unique account id. If you use Google, we receive your email and basic profile from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
The homeschool information you enter. Inside the app you can add a child's first name or a nickname, and optionally a grade or age. As you use Kithle it stores the worksheets you generate, the scores you enter, completed work, and the records and report cards built from them. This is yours. We store it so the product can keep your records and show your progress.
When you join the early-access list. On the website we collect the email address you give us and the signup details you choose to share, like how many children you're teaching and what you're interested in.
Payment information. Paid plans are handled by Stripe. When billing is active, Stripe processes your card details directly and we never see or store your full card number. We only see a record that a subscription exists and its status. Billing is off during early access.

Where it's stored and who processes it
Your account and homeschool data are stored with Supabase (hosted in the United States), protected in transit and behind access rules so that only your signed-in account can reach your household's data. We rely on a small set of service providers to run Kithle:
- Supabase for database storage and authentication.
- Google when you choose to sign in with Google.
- PostHog for the usage analytics described below.
- Stripe for payments, when billing is active.
- Vercel and Cloudflare for hosting the app and website.
These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we don't hand it to advertisers or data brokers.
How we measure usage
We use PostHog to understand how the website and app are used: which pages get opened, which buttons get clicked, roughly which part of the world a visit came from, and what browser and device it came on. We look at it to find out what's useful and what's confusing.
No child's information ever goes into analytics. Not their name, not their work, not their scores, not their progress. We deliberately turn off automatic click capture and session recording so that the on-screen text of your children's work cannot leak into analytics. Analytics can tell us that a page was opened. It cannot tell us anything about your children, and it never will.
We've set this up without analytics cookies, we don't use it to follow you around other websites, and we don't build an advertising profile from it. PostHog processes this for us and doesn't sell it. If you would rather not be counted at all, turn on your browser's "Do Not Track" setting and we honour it.
Why we collect it
To run the product: to sign you in, keep your records, generate worksheets, and show your progress. To tell you when early access opens and understand what families want so we build the right things. To process payments when you choose a paid plan. That's the whole list.
You're entering your children's information
Kithle is used by a parent or guardian to keep their own family's records. Children are not our users and do not have their own accounts. You decide what to enter, and a first name or nickname is all the app needs. You stay in control of that information and can change or remove it at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, export your records, or delete your information and your account. Email hello@kithle.com and we'll take care of it. No hoops. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request.
Changes to this policy
As Kithle grows we'll keep this page current and update the date at the top. If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your information, we'll tell you. The one line that won't change: your children's work is not analytics data, and we will not treat it as such.
